Patient involvement is integral part to Research and Innovation at ĢtvƵ Teaching Hospitals. Patient involvement ensures that research is patient-centred, relevant, and addresses the real needs and concerns of the community.

How to get involved

Find your research trial

There are hundreds of clinical trials happening here at LTHT. To find a trial that is looking for people to take part in now, use the Be Part of Research link below to start your search or click on the buttons below to find out about our most frequently requested trials.

Information about the trial will include eligibility criteria, the potential benefits or risks associated with participation. You can discuss further with a member of the team working on the research to find out if you meet the necessary requirements for participation.

Once you have identified a study you are interested in, contact the research team responsible for that study. You can usually find the contact information on the study’s webpage or by reaching out to the team

Inform the research team about your interest in participating in the study. They will provide you with more details about the research, answer any questions you may have, and assess your eligibility.

If you are eligible to participate, the research team will guide you through the informed consent process. This involves providing you with all the necessary information about the study, including its purpose, procedures, potential risks and benefits, and your rights as a participant. Take your time to review the consent form carefully, and don’t hesitate to ask any questions before signing it.

If you meet the criteria and decide to participate, you may need to undergo additional screening tests or assessments to ensure your suitability for the study. Once you pass the screening process, you will be enrolled as a participant.

Remember, each research study has its own specific requirements and procedures, so the process may vary depending on the study you choose. It’s crucial to communicate directly with the research team to receive accurate and up-to-date information about their studies and participation opportunities.
