We see a range of common pelvic problems including:
- Bladder problems (for example leakage of the bladder with coughing)
- Bowel problems (for example rushing to open your bowels or struggling to control wind)
- Vaginal heaviness or bulging
- Bladder and bowel symptoms following delivery
- Pain following the delivery of your baby
- Sexual dysfunction (for example pain or spasm with intimacy)
With all conditions in urogynaecology, we work very closely with doctors, nurses and GPs to ensure the best care for our patients.
If you have any of the above symptoms it is important to be referred to physiotherapy as this is the first-line treatment.
Data from our patients has shown that:
- 82% improved in their urinary incontinence symptoms following physiotherapy
- 73% improved in their vaginal (prolapse) symptoms following physiotherapy
- 95% improved in sexual matters after physiotherapy treatment
- 88% improved in their quality of life following physiotherapy treatment
